EXHIBITIONS NOVEMBER AND MAY
Every fully paid up member of MAC can exhibit a number (see entry form) of framed works in our May and November shows (including drawings, collages and handmade prints) without any entry fee. When exhibiting at least three framed works, they can also exhibit, for a fee of £2, one portfolio with up to 15 unframed works, all of which must be of comparable quality and presented in clean and tidy mounts – this may include paintings made on a block style canvas that will not require a frame, but will fit into the portfolio case.
Preferably, works to be exhibited on the screens must not have been shown at any previous MAC Exhibition. However, one previously exhibited picture per member will be allowed. All must be well presented in a new, professional quality frame (unless the work is executed on a surface specially designed so that it is presented complete, without one).
The back of the work must bear the artist’s name, the title of the work, the medium and the selling price. This information should correspond exactly with information you put on the entry form. (MAC will take the agreed commission from the price you ask.)
Entry forms will be available from the Exhibition Secretary any Monday evening from six weeks before each Exhibition and must be returned completed twenty-one days before the Exhibition date.
The hanging team reserve the right to refuse to hang or display any item which fails to conform to the above conditions., and to reduce the number of works per member if the number of entries exceed available hanging space.
The prices for all work should be fixed for the duration of the Exhibition. The MAC commission on the proceeds of sale will be as agreed at the most recent AGM.
No paintings are to be removed during the course of an exhibition, except by authorised club members, and whilst every care will be taken, the committee cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage of members’ work.
All work including craft to be handed in at Kirklands between 6.30pm and 7.30pm of the Friday prior to the exhibition and unsold work collected between 4.30pm and 5pm on the Sunday of the Exhibition.
All exhibitors will be required to accept supervision duties connected with the Exhibition.
IMPORTANT: be sure to refer to all of the information on the Exhibition Entry Form.
